'the heights' secret valley sessions
I filmed and recorded the live sound for these two music videos for Melbourne band 'The Heights' along with Jordy Kornfeld also on camera. The aim was to get a very intimate performance feeling and capture the atmosphere of this 'Secret Valley' country cottage retreat. While we were filming 'Drift Away' it started raining and droplets started appearing on the lens - it gave a really interesting look to the clip and certainly
gives the sense of the cold rainy weather at the time. I also really enjoyed capturing it in one shot and with only one microphone which captures the sounds of the forest and rain as part of the performance.

This second clip utilises two cameras because of the layout of the bridge, but is mainly the hero shot by Jordy. It was fun to play with that framing of the band all in a line like this. Again just using one microphone to capture the sound which includes the sounds of the birds by the lake (and a few rogue cars going past).
